Caroline Sutherland grew up in West Wicklow. As a teenager she moved to Kilkenny to where her mother’s family has lived for generations. Since then she has worked extensively in North Africa, Europe and London and her works are often inspired by the places she visited and people she met during that time.
While studying the Homeric Epics she discovered her love of traditional stories and myths. As an Irish author, it has been said that her short stories often reach far into the past all-the-while exploring the parallels and relevance of living in the modern world.
